Across the Marina (SOLD)

I had a satori (kick in the head) this morning in France.  The blogger wrote a few choice words about not illustrating, but trying hard to paint shapes and not tell a story. Sure, I do that, I lay all the importance on the illustration. I tried not to in this piece. I want to paint and not illustrate. Been there, done that. My satori.
Thanks liza.
Oil on canvas 20"X16"
thanks for looking.
This painting is sold

Ok. The story thing eludes me. Why are two boats more of a story than one? Isn't the story what the viewer imagines upon viewing?

Oh to live on a boat! This just renews that dream within!
