Across the Marina (SOLD)

I had a satori (kick in the head) this morning in France.  The blogger wrote a few choice words about not illustrating, but trying hard to paint shapes and not tell a story. Sure, I do that, I lay all the importance on the illustration. I tried not to in this piece. I want to paint and not illustrate. Been there, done that. My satori.
Thanks liza.

All boxed in Crab (SOLD)

I decided to post a work in progress. I have spent a few hours defining the shapes of my crab all boxed in.
His backs to the wall bored. Spent the day with my crab. I like it enough to call it finished, but I will probably kill a bit more of the red, and I did. I finally said enough and signed it. I think this is my favorite crab to date. I am going to do a big lobster real soon.

Fair and Square in Serendipity (SOLD)

Here I have painted this house again, but this time without the distortion. I have included (purely for your benefit) a lifesize figure of a troubled Richard Gere waving. He tried hard to say "hat-trass" like the locals. Don't start me talkin', I'll tell everything I know.
Nightmares in Rodanthe. Enough already with Serendipity.

Cheating Serendipity (SOLD)

This was an experiment gone astray. I cheated the vertical scale by 50%, but stayed as true as possible to the rest of the world and used the stairs to compensate. This is what the house Serendipity looks like now, sort of. I may paint this again without the distortion.
Oil on canvas 24"X12"
