Shrimp#10 (SOLD)

I taped a piece of pre-gessoed linen to a piece of plywood. I will have to mount it on a board of some fashion in order to sell or display this painting. I have not done this before, I usually build my own frames and stretch my own canvas. Prepared linen is a luxury. The linen panels are wonderful. It makes duck canvas feel like painting on gravel.

Rick, what does a person do if they're too shy to ask about prices? yikes... Just wondering, ballpark, say, what your price per square inch is for say, an oil on linen like this. And I'm sure I can't afford you but... am curious.

Camille,
In a Big Gay Al voice, "Well thanks for noticing!" $300 will buy almost any painting I have on this site.I say almost because I have 1 or 2 that are not for sale. Some are in galleries and that would mean additional gallery commissions to contend with. Prices of all my painting goes down from there. I like to keep my prices as low as is reasonable, because I can make more! How many will you be requiring?

Now that is a big whopper of a shrimp!

Did you find that oil is more enjoyable on this surface? You've painted a marvelous piece and I hope more to come.

I used to love painting on canvas taped to board. I just got tired of the time it would take to mount the paintings. Part of that was getting my husband to cut the hardboard for me. I may go back to it for some linen work when I can afford it. I'd buy the panels pre-cut to cut down on that time. There are SOME advantages to being male. lol

Too poor right now, Rick (paying rent/expenses for two daughters in college... need I say more), but just wondered, and I'm sure many other of your blog visitors wondered, too. So I did them all a favor, I'm just that kinda gal!

I love seeing your style crescendoing in oil. (is that poetic enough?) (I didn't know if zenith-izing was a word)

Camille,
When I said I "could make more." I meant more paintings, but it reads like more $. That would be ok too!
