There was this movie about a gang of thugs. They were causing trouble and generally giving everybody grief. After a while the bad guys get everybody cornered in the livery stable. Some guy on the roof shouts out "........... its goin' down to the wire!"
Then all you hear is wind blowing. I could have tried to save them, but......
they knew not my name, and I knew not their faces, I found they were all rank strangers to me.

I really like these last three crab paintings. The compositions are so strong and exciting. It's interesting that I can't tell the difference between the acrylic and oil unless you tell me. Can one tell more difference in person? What is your preference now, oil or acrylic? I've always heard that oil paintings bring more money in galleries- more than acrylic. Have you encountered that in your dealings with galleries or do think that has now changed? Lots of homework for you to answer all these questions. Anyway, just wanted to say how much I like these last three paintings.

About Oil v. Acrylic. I don't know that the stigma about oil being the gold standard is any longer valid. At my May artshow, a painter that I did not know asked me why I was wasting my time with acrylic. I think that theory is somewhat old school. If the painting is "good", then the painting is good. I think those that buy art don't make that distinction. An original piece of art is an original. That is what they are buying.
Gorgeous color! I think your single crab compositions are among my favorites. They have such a modern aesthetic that I'd think they would also work great really large.
Thanks for the color comment. Some of my crabs have a claw span of 4 feet. How large is really large? I'm talking about crab paintings now.
