I'm crushing your head(SOLD)

  I have done more crab paintings than probably any other subject.  I have never counted them. I would guess the number of paintings I have created so far is just below 600. I have probably painted 70 or more blue crabs.  I am a bit worried about over saturating the crab painting market. Is there a way of knowing other than sales?

 Do you have an opinion about oversaturation of painting types or subjects?

 Can I get a witness?

Faded Lovee(SOLD)

Most people can't make this stuff up. This is "Lovee" the pastel calico that replaced Laverne.  If my neighbor and I were still on speaking terms he would testify. About a year ago my neighbor came to our house. He saw "Lovee" for the first time, however, he knew we already had a calico cat. In astonishment he asked, "..has that cat faded?"

Are we there yet, again? (Kitty Hawk, 2008) (SOLD)

I painted this originally about 7 or 8 months ago. It hung in a gallery for 6 months. I took it out and replaced it with something else. I had to decide rather to gesso or modify. I modified it and added life that could been happening......... sort of like in "The Shining". Sometimes I think your paying attention and then sometimes I just fall flat. Lambs on Bitter Lake (SOLD)

I visited my cousin, Trent Nilson, when I was in South Dakota. (you know, Justin's kid, Trent.) "Oh yeah, the "T"MAN, what's he doin' now?" He quit shaving when his mother died, and he keeps a lot of his stuff just north of Bitter Lake. Dead cottonwoods are witness to rising water levels in Bitter Lake. If you click on the title "Lambs on Bitter Lake" above, behold, a schematic of regional lake levels. Bitter Lake has risen more than 20'. SDDOT has been busy raising the grade on lots of roads in the area.

Monday Trashday (the beachroad saga)

Hello to my old good A&E buddy, Doug Dieter, out there in Sacramento, Cal. Found me with a google search. This scene must look familiar to you.
It is very easy to overwork paintings, and if you love to paint, then you must fight that urge also. "But,............... I just got goin' good!"
I don't know if this is finished but it certainly was fun to paint. "Yes, but there is that bit just over the chateau, that certainly could stand another splash." The light at sundown on the beach road is wonderful.

These crabs are a lot of fun to paint. Did I mention the title. I have 2 more canvas's stretched this size but I don't have any good titles yet. Meanwhile I am donating 5% from the sales of my paintings to the Dare County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. I have made 1 donation and I have a canceled check to prove it. So I want to know ....................who doesn't like animals? I like my soft shell fried in butter, and hold the breading. Just throw it in a hot pan and bring it! "You've been served!!"

"Langouste Cajune" (or) "Cajun Crawfish" (SOLD)

I tried to think about electric colors while I painted. I do like limiting my palette. I used about every red that I own. Please refer to this painting as a langouste, instead of just some poor ignorant craw fish. This was certainly fun to paint. Acrylic on canvas 20"X20" this painting is sold.
