I painted this more than a year ago as a washed tonal study. It has been raining for 2 days. I took this outside yesterday to take a photo. I caught a drop of water on the board. When it stops raining, I will photo it again.
Sometimes I paint all day and its a dud. Sometimes I wonder why and was it just a bad idea or have I forgotten something. Sometimes paintings paint themselves. Sometimes I don't like them, sometimes I do. I know that it is not so important if I like it or if I don't. The enjoyment for me is in the doing. I do like these little birds.
The reference photo for my painting had a flowered bag where my dog is. The flowered bag was not keeping my interests. Then the dog started to show interest. lemonade.
This is "BigEye" docked in Wanchese Harbour on Mill Creek Landing Road. I liked the way the bow of the big eye was "creased". Thats fair. I hope BigEye and her crew always have fish to catch in the waters of coastal North Carolina.
One time, I was sloppy drunk, and I realized I needed to pick a fight with a small man I was certain I could beat. I started to look around the room. My head started to spin. Then the room started to spin.
I do love to paint my crabs. I catch them in my back yard. This guy was fiesty. He actually jumped at me. Some will not move as I taunt them with my camera.
If I take the long way home, through the village and around the cemetery, this farmhouse and outbuildings are my skyline. I have painted these outbuildings before.
Cats can be real jerks, and I'm not into songbird. I put a bell on Shirley to remind her that I don't want no wren right now and I don't touch no thrush. To be a jerk, she keeps bringing them.
She is in defiance of the bell concept.
