This is (by my specifications) my 1300th painting.

 It holds little weight as a number and does not seem as much of a milestone as I thought it might. Had you asked me in2007 about where I would be,  I would have thought a more serious and important place, doing better and more important things. Yet, Wow, This is my 1300th painting and post. I started to blog and show my  drawings in 2008.  I am convinced that anybody can do this. It just takes a willingness to keep drawing and painting and believing success and reward are a brush stroke away.

here is a my rendition of a photo taken by the captain of the Fishing Frenzy, a charter fishing boat docked in Oregon Inlet Marina. Nice fish.

I never do this. This is from a photo I ripped on facebook. I did this painting as a gift for a nice lady that does a lot for dogs all across the continent. I hope she and the Captain of the Fishing Frenzy like it.

Light Up Anxiety (SOLD)

The first time I saw a bullnose dolphin or mahi-mahi in the bottom of the boat, I thought "...what manner of mutant fish is this?" Just before they die, dolphin and other fish, "lightup" in a way that causes them to look florescent against the dark blue of the Atlantic gulf stream.  They are called the perch of the sea.

This beach access in Kitty Hawk was most likely named for this guy.

Dr. Hugo Eckener (10 August 1868 – 14 August 1954)^[1][2][3] was the manager of the Luftschiffbau Zeppelin during the inter-war years, and also the commander of the famous Graf Zeppelin for most of its record-setting flights, including the first airship flight around the world, making him the most successful airship commander in history. He was also responsible for the construction of the most successful type of airships of all time. An anti-Nazi who was invited to campaign as a moderate in the German presidential elections,^[1][4][5] he was blacklisted by that regime and eventually sidelined.

I painted on this for what seemed like a long time. I can hardly remember when I wasn't painting on this beach access at the end of Bleriot Street in Kitty Hawk.  Hope I don't go senile.

Waiting on Nurishment

I have decided to take on a series. I plan to paint some of the beach accesses along North Carolina Highway 12. I am starting at the north end of Kitty Hawk. This house is just over the dune on the south side of Bieriot Street. I do not think it will be around to see any beach nourishment and the place is not habitable, but it has a lamp in the window on the back side.
