"I look at you and now I sigh" (on Ol Bill Yeats)(SOLD)

Taadah!
This is about as good as I can make this painting.
I am still working on this. I am closer. I spent quite a bit of time refining the perspective. I still am not satisfied with the over color of the house. Battleship grey is a no brainer. I sometimes catch things to fix during the process of posting a work progress. I look and now I sigh.William Butler Yeats (1865 - 1939)
  A Drinking Song
Wine comes in at the mouth And love comes in at the eye; That's all we shall know for truth Before we grow old and die. I lift the glass to my mouth, I look at you, and I sigh.
Someone tell Ol Bill .....

Liking it so far, Rick. I'll be interested to see where you take it.

Just a question about your WIP's...How come you don't leave up the progressions instead of replacing the images as you develop the painting? Is this to conserve bandwidth? Just curious.

I would be interested in seeing where I take this too. I never really thought about leaving up works in progress. I am always to have something that looks better than the last post that I gleefully delete it. Bandwidth? I ain't afraid of no steekin' bandwidth. (unless I should be)

Rick, I like this too. Are there girls sunbathing on the other side of the hedge? I can hear their radio along with the gulls. The grey of the house doesn't bother me but it is very close to the roof color in value. Maybe just a value change would help to define the architecture more if that is what you are after. I looks very natural and right to me though.

It turned out very well, Dude (or is it First Dude?) The siding color does work better, not so different that it stands out, and I like the further developments in the sky. Toning down that intense pink spot over the hedge works better, although I didn't see it needing a change before. You've made this a very marketable piece, the dimensions are great for those special spots in home decor and hard to find. This house that you've painted is such a great nostalgic image that anyone, that has been to the beach in the last 20 to 30 years, will fondly remember.
