Mile Post 3.5 (Donation)

Just over this mound of sand lies the entire Atlantic Ocean. Its awesome. I moved the power pole to a more prominent position in the painting. It's shadow showed up on the roof, and meanwhile, another scene is happening out there, somewhere along North Carolina Highway 12 ( the beachroad). Acrylic on canvas 12"X18" I donated this painting to the Dare County Arts Council. $150.00 (I hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did.)

I've read some of your blog on occasion and you are a real hoot. I think I first dropped in after leaving a comment on Jennifer's blog and came for a visit then. I remember a comment you made about the disappearing older beach houses making room for all the megga-mansions. This painting is a perfect visual of that transition. Like we are driving by history in a fast auto. I like your work, the kind of rawness of it. It makes me think of music "unplugged" or unprocessed. "pure art" in lower case.
