Sardines (SOLD)

This was a wild go with brushes I have not touched in 2 weeks.
I took a wonderful 8 day vacation and  toured Italy by train. Flew into Venice andspent a couple of days wandering the place and eating everything in sight. We took the train through Tuscany 3 times.   We stayed in Rome the other 6 days and took day trips to Florence and Naples. Toured Pompeii and it was probably the highlight of the trip. I studied the landscape architecture of in Pompeii in college. It was fastinating seeing how this little village was frozen in time by one morning by the rumbling of the volcano up the hill. The park service allows a small number of wildsolitary male dogs roam the place and warn you not to touch them.  It was an interesting addition to the exibit. A little more than 1/2 of the site has been exposed.
The fast trains travel at close to 300 kph. If you can't convert mph to kph you can just imagine fast and can get you around Europe very quickly. I marvel at Europe's mass transportation systems.
This painting is inspired by the Rialto Fish Market in Venice. I took some pictures there. I may post a few soon.........
Oil on canvas 18"X24"
I have donated this painting to the Outer Banks Hospital

Welcome back Rick. This one looks interesting. Can't get a bigger size though, hard to see any details.
